Hello, I am currently bed ridden from a Closed Right Pilón Fracture and I am unable to work. I got surgery recently and the procedure was putting a metal fixator to hold my leg and foot in place. Two screws on my shin and one screw on each side of my heel. I will need multiple surgeries so I am able to walk comfortably again. I experienced a near miss incident at a crosswalk while commuting home from work. The event transpired rapidly, causing me to become disoriented and lose my balance on my board. In an attempt to dismount quickly, my foot unfortunately landed in a pothole, resulting a frature to my Tibia and Fibula. The injury has left me unable to earn an income. I had been unemployed since January, and found a new job in mid-March. Unfortunately, I was only able to work for about two weeks before I got hurt. Since then, my rent, utilities, and medical bills have been piling up, and I was denied FAMLI benefits, so I have no income coming in right now. The funds I raise here will go directly toward covering my surgeries, medication, rent, utilities, and food while I recover. I underwent my initial surgery on April 5th, incurring a cost of $5,024.38. My subsequent surgery is scheduled for April 22nd, with an additional estimated cost of $2,811.04.
