Help Michael Rebuild After Hit-and-Run Accident

On 8/04/24, at around 6:30 am on his way home from work, my cousin Michael Spaulding III was in a horrific accident. Our family is lucky, blessed, and grateful that he is still alive with serious injuries that could have been much worse. Unfortunately, Michael has no memory involving the accident due to his serious traumatic brain injury/concussion. There was a witness that was behind him that saw the crash. He stated that he was run off the road by a white truck that had road rage. Thank God for this man that called 911, although he was not able to give a license number or make/model of the truck. This truck was a hit and run. No cameras, no evidence of what has happened. Michael owned his car and had liability insurance, at this point he has been off work, and his only means of transportation is totaled.

The police and EMT have no idea how Michael climbed out of his car. He climbed out and his dog Beamer sat with him until the ambulance took him to Grant Hospital. Michael also has no memory of this as well. The accident was so horrendous that the tow truck driver asked if Michael was DOA (dead on arrival), again we are so grateful that he is still here with us. He was diagnosed at the hospital with TBI/Concussion, Hematoma, Fractured Neck, Stretched Spinal cord, and multiple lacerations with glass from the windshield.

Fast forward to two weeks later; no memory of the event, terrible body pain, headaches, dizziness, trouble with thought processes. He is diagnosed with post-concussion syndrome. Michael needs everyone's help, that can help during this time. He has not gone back to work yet, he is not medically cleared. Since this was a hit and run there is no help financially in this accident that he did not cause. His car is totaled, he will need help with this. Bills are piling up, if anyone has any information that would help the Sheriff locate the person/truck that left him for dead on 8/4/24 on Lackey Old State Road going towards Cheshire, please call the Delaware Count Highway Patrol Sheriff Post. Please if you live on that road with possible doorbell cameras that face the road please look at them. If anyone has the extra money to help Michael out, we are so blessed he is still here and with us, please help us lessen his burden.
