Hi Everyone
I apologize if you are getting this text from me regarding my GoFundMe account a second time. It seems few people received the original as I have gotten only two responses and I know my friends and acquaintances are all very caring, generous, and compassionate people. So it seems doubtful to me that the original go fund me account information was received by the numerous people I sent it to. So please disregard this second attempt to reach out if you did receive the original text.
I am writing to appeal to my friends and acquaintances regarding my desperate situation medically and financially. Since I retired 15 years ago, I’ve been besieged by ongoing severe medical problems and financial crises.
Due to diabetes, I have had all my toes on both feet amputated and recently had two additional surgeries on my foot requiring me to undergo six weeks of inpatient IV antibiotic therapy daily. This is the fourth time this year this has occurred which, believe it or not, has required me to have over 500 antibiotic IVs. I’m turning 80 this year and about to lose $1000 monthly income from my retirement savings, which have been exhausted over these 15 years I’ve been retired for medical reasons. prior to that, I was placed on halftime disability at age 50, which obviously limited my income and capacity to enlarge my 401(k).
I’ll spare you all the details of the other Medical problems I have had, including 3 failed back surgeries, both shoulders replaced, both hips replaced, my left knee replaced, and a necessary heart stent. There is also the possibility I may have to have my right leg amputated just below the knee. Additionally, I have struggled with chronic depression since a teenager which has included undergoing transcranial magnetic stimulation on three occasions.
As you can see, I am really up against it in terms of my survival.
Any contribution you could make that would not create an undue burden on yourself financially would be appreciated beyond words.
I pray for God‘s Grace and help from my community and others to be able to survive at this time and in the future.
With profound gratitude,
and Happy Easter!
