Hello family and friends…. My son Michael Hernandez is facing overwhelming medical and financial challenges following a heart transplant on July 23, 2025. Since then, he has encountered numerous complications that have required ongoing treatment and care, leading to enormous medical expenses.

Due to the time and energy required for his recovery, Michael has been unable to work, putting him at risk of losing his position as a police officer.

my son has been in the hospital since 4/24/26 and is fighting an infection. He recently had to under go two surgeries to. His recovery has been difficult putting him in ICU to monitor his heart. We are hoping that he will be discharged soon. He will come home with a PICC line for daily antibiotics and restrictions because of the removal of the empella.

As a result, he is struggling to keep up with his insurance payments and mounting medical bills. He will not be able to return to full duty for at least 6 weeks. He has exhausted all types of leave. Leaving him with no means to pay his medical insurance that he so desperately needs for his daily medications that keep the heart going.

Michael has already shown incredible strength and resilience, defying the odds time and again. He continues to fight with determination, but he cannot do this alone.

At this time, we are asking for help. Any contribution, no matter the amount, will go directly toward his medical expenses and essential costs. Your support means more than words can express.
