5 Years Fighting Leukemia—Help Me Rebuild My Life

Hi everyone,

My name is Michael Estes, and for the past five years, I have been fighting leukemia—a battle that has challenged me physically, emotionally, and financially. After countless treatments and a life-saving bone marrow transplant, I am incredibly grateful to still be here. But while I’ve overcome so much, the struggle isn’t over.

One of my biggest challenges now is getting to my follow-up treatments and medical appointments. With mounting medical bills and only my wife’s income supporting us, affording a reliable car has been difficult. My wife is an incredible person—she’s a dedicated special education teacher who works tirelessly to support both her students and our family. But as you can imagine, a teacher’s salary alone isn’t enough to cover all of our expenses, especially with ongoing medical costs. Having transportation would make a huge difference in my ability to continue my recovery and regain some stability.

Throughout this journey, one thing that has kept me going is my love for my family and pets. They have been my source of strength, comfort, and unconditional love through the hardest moments of my battle. More than anything, I want to continue being there for them, just as they’ve been there for me.

I know times are tough for many, and asking for help isn’t easy. But anything I receive—no matter how big or small—would truly be a blessing from God.
