Help Michael May Overcome Tragic Accident
Donation protected
Hello. My name is Michael May.
I don't usually ask for help, but in this case, due to circumstances beyond my control, I am obliged to.
I worked for a semiconductor manufacturer, married with 2 children and 3 grandchildren. My life was good; I enjoyed working and living my life. I bought a brand new motorcycle, and I enjoyed going out with my wife and family.
On April 24th, 2024, all that changed in the blink of an eye. I was riding my Harley home from a doctor's appointment when I was struck by a drunk driver. I don't remember the accident itself; I woke up in the emergency room when they were telling me they were going to amputate my left leg below my knee. I woke up in the intensive care unit with an amputated left leg, a compound fracture of the left femur, six broken ribs, and a broken left shoulder. I have required medical help ever since. The drunk driver had no insurance, and during my recovery, I lost my job and have been terminated with no recompense.
I've been struggling ever since with pain and learning to walk again with my prosthetic. Due to this traumatic event, I'm now diagnosed with PTSD and struggling with constant pain. Moreover, I have to access my retirement funds to make ends meet.
I am fundraising to cover my medical expenses and support my family during this difficult time.
