Michael and Kriss have spent their lives caring for others—now they need our help. After their only vehicle was stolen, they are left without reliable transportation during an already difficult season. This is about more than a truck—it’s about restoring their independence and peace of mind.
Their truck was a cherished 1970 GMC ¾-ton pickup—mint green, all original, and still running with nearly 399,000 miles. It had been in their family for over 40 years, passed down from Kriss’s father, and held decades of memories. They had hoped to restore it together in retirement. Sadly, it was only covered by liability insurance, so there is no compensation.
Michael and Kriss are lifelong friends who have always given to others. Since 1982, they’ve shared their love of music along California’s Central Coast. Later, they moved to Los Angeles to care full-time for Michael’s sister with Alzheimer’s, faithfully supporting her for 20 years. During that time, they also ran a small electrician business through many financial challenges. Now retired and living on disability, their income is limited. Michael is also a proud Army Vietnam Veteran.
