Help Support 12-Year-Old Michael Keagle in His Fight Against a One-in-a-Billion Cancer
Hi everyone,
We are reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for your support for 12-year-old Michael Keagle, a bright and beautiful soul who has just been diagnosed with an extremely rare and highly aggressive form of cancer called desmoplastic small round blue cell sarcoma (DSRCT). According to his doctor, the chances of a child developing this particular cancer are about one in a billion. This diagnosis has completely changed the course of Michael’s life — and his family’s — overnight.
Michael is a kind, loving, and courageous young boy who loves video games and sports. He has a gentle heart and a fighting spirit, and he deserves every chance at life. Michael’s fight will not be easy. Over the next nine months, he will endure intense and aggressive rounds of chemotherapy and radiation in hopes of beating this cruel disease. His journey will be grueling, both physically and emotionally. As his family stands by him every step of the way, they are also facing a mountain of financial, emotional, and logistical burdens.
His parents, Chris and Barbie, are now facing the unimaginable. Not only must they summon the strength to watch their child suffer through treatments no parent should ever have to see, but they are also grappling with the overwhelming cost and time commitment that this journey demands. Between travel for treatments, time away from work, and basic family needs, the road ahead is daunting.
That’s why we are asking for your help — to ease the financial burden so this family can focus on what truly matters: helping Michael fight and heal. Your donation will go directly toward:
- Travel expenses for medical appointments
- Lost wages from time off work
- Hospital parking, food, and lodging during long stays
- Medical expenses not covered by insurance
- Any other unforeseen costs that arise during this long and challenging fight
We believe in the power of faith and the generosity of community. Luke 6:38 reminds us: “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
And Acts 20:35 encourages us: “In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
We humbly ask for your prayers for Michael—for healing, strength, and hope. We also ask you to pray for his family Chris and Barbie (stepmom), Lara (mother), Michael's younger siblings Jake, Christopher, and Victoria, and his stepsisters Savanna and Seairra. Pray for comfort in the darkest moments, and for the endurance they will need through every hospital visit, every sleepless night, and every step of this painful road. Michael’s battle is great, but so is the power of prayer, the strength of love, and the beauty of community.
If you are able, please consider contributing to help ease the burden on Chris and Barbie. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference. Let’s lift this family up with love, support, and generosity as they fight the battle of their lives.
Thank you from the depths of our hearts. We are praying for miracles. We are BELIEVING in healing. And we are grateful for your compassion.
If you’re unable to give, we completely understand — but we do ask that you share this campaign. Your support, in any form, will mean the world to Michael and his family.
With gratitude and hope,
Chad and Whitney Moody / Team Michael / Friends of the Keagle Family
