Hi everyone,

My name is Angeleah, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my older brother, Michael Anderson.

Michael has been a proud member of the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) for over 10 years — and as a second-generation IBEW union member, the values of hard work, loyalty, and community run deep in our family. He’s always been someone who shows up for others, but now, he needs a community to show up for him.

Over the past seven months, Michael has been fighting a serious and exhausting health battle. He was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease and has been dealing with multiple severe infections, including C. Diff. Colitis. Most recently, a new infection has been discovered, and doctors have determined that he will need surgery to identify its source. Only once this infection is brought under control will he be able to begin physical therapy and move forward in his recovery.

Michael is also a devoted father to three wonderful children who are getting ready to go back to school. He has not been able to work at all this year due to his condition, and his short-term disability benefits have now been exhausted. With ongoing medical treatments, surgery, rent, utilities, and school expenses, the financial strain is overwhelming.

We’re hoping to raise at least $5,000 to help ease this burden and provide Michael and his children with the support they urgently need. *Update 7/6/25*

Michael will be having an operation on Thursday 7/14/25. They will be inserting a seton to help with drainage and begin the healing process. It could be weeks or months that he has to have this in. Follow-up appointments will be scheduled for the doctor to determine when it can be removed. The next step will be surgery to repair what is causing the infection. Please continue to keep him in your prayers.
