First, this is definitely something I had never thought we'd ever be experiencing right now. I want to ask everyone to keep my younger brother Michael in your prayers for a full recovery. 

Early this morning, 3/31/21, the home where Michael was living in Lockhart, TX caught fire. His roommate woke up coughing and quickly realized the house was in flames. He then woke Michael up and they tried to exit the home. Upon Michael's exit, he tripped on the burned, broken floor and fell into the fire on the porch. 

Not only did they lose all of their belongings as the home was a total loss, his body is now 85% covered in burns. He is currently in ICU at the Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas in Austin, TX. He is in critical conditional as they keep him sedated to help manage the extreme pain. 

He made it successfully through his first surgery this morning, and we've signed consent for the multiple others he will be needing in the coming weeks and months. The Doctors have made it clear that this will be an extremely long recovery, at minimum 8 months in the hospital, as they require one month per 10% of the body covered in burns. 

Michael is a disabled Marine Corps Veteran, and will give you the shirt off of his own back if you needed it. Currently, he was doing private security as a 1099 contractor and also relied on his SS Disability Income. As of right now, it is clear he will not have any other income than his SSDI, and most of you are aware you cannot live off of such a small income. He has a car note and many other bills that I will struggle to maintain while he is down for these months. 

I am asking for any donations you may be able to give (no matter how small), and all of the prayers for a full recovery. Material items can always be replaced, however his life cannot.
