My cat Michael is 8 years old and has been a beloved part of my family since we brought him home from PetSmart as a kitten. He’s always been sensitive to his surroundings, and it took a lot of patience and love for him to feel safe and open his heart to us. After a year of gentle care, he truly became part of our family—always sitting next to us, curling up on our bed, and following us around with his curious eyes. We miss his presence and the comfort he brings every day.
Last week, Michael started behaving very abnormally. It began with coughing and sneezing, but soon he was vomiting every day, hiding in dark places, and barely moving. Two days ago, he stopped eating and going to the bathroom altogether. We rushed him to the vet, where blood work revealed a serious kidney issue and a blockage causing fluid to build up in his stomach. The vet says he needs to stay in the hospital for days and have x-rays, but the costs are more than I can manage right now. This is an urgent matter, and the vet cannot guarantee that Michael will get better. If it really is a blockage, his condition could get much worse very quickly. Even if nothing is found on the x-ray, the vet will insist on further tests, and if something is found, surgery would be mandatory. The costs include not just x-rays, but days in the hospital and possibly surgery or additional tests if needed.
Michael means the world to me, and it breaks my heart to see him in pain and not be able to help. I feel the stress he is feeling, especially when he doesn’t eat or go to the bathroom. I wish I had the financial stability to give him the care he needs, but I can’t do it alone. If you can, please help us cover Michael’s medical expenses so he can get the treatment he needs and come home to the family that loves him so much.
