My son Michael was recently diagnosed with cardiomyopathy, a condition that has caused his heart to become dangerously enlarged. After undergoing open heart surgery to help support his heart, we learned that Michael now needs a heart transplant. He is currently in the hospital and cannot come home until he receives his new heart. Every day is filled with uncertainty, but we are holding onto hope and doing everything we can to support him through this journey.
