Hello everyone,

I don’t usually reach out like this, but I’m asking for your help with something incredibly important. My dear friend Michael Garner, a cancer survivor, is facing a major challenge right now. He’s a dedicated husband, father, and new grandpa who has always been there for others, and now he needs our support.

I met Mike and his wonderful family after I bought my farm, and he quickly became like a brother to me. He’s the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back. Mike was close with Gary Pinkel from his time with the Mizzou football team back when they were kicking butt with Chase Daniels, Aldon Smith, and others.

Last fall, Mike battled a severe infection that nearly cost him his life. He spent months in the hospital, on life support, and we weren’t sure he would pull through. Thank God, he did, but he’s facing significant challenges now. The infection resulted in the loss of both his legs below the knees and the tips of his fingers.

Despite these setbacks, Mike is determined to get back to walking and playing golf with his new prosthetic legs. Unfortunately, the insurance company is refusing to cover the physical therapy he urgently needs to adapt to his prosthetics. The estimated cost of this therapy is nearly $100,000. This is not something he can learn on his own.

We’re reaching out to ask for your support. Any contributions you can make will help us either fight for insurance coverage or hire a private physical therapist to work with Mike at home.

My hope is that this post can find a few people from his past also connected to Mizzou football. If Gary Pinkel, Mike Kelly (voice of Mizzou football) Aldon Smith, or Chase Daniels knew of his struggle I know they would help us spread the word. Michael and his family are not ones to ask for help, but this situation is more than they can handle.

Please assist me in helping my good friend and brother get back on his feet. He wants to be able to teach his grandson how to hunt and play sports just like he did for his kids. Please message me if you know a physical therapist that might be able to help. Thank you so much for sharing!
