Help Michael "Fish" Fisher Through Cancer Treatment
Donation protected
Our dear friend, Michael "Rev. Fish" Fisher, a Navy veteran, was just diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma (throat cancer), and will be unable to work during treatment (it's hazardous to be a tattoo artist while undergoing chemo/radiation, and this is affecting his speech), and may have to close his shop.
The good news is that this type of cancer is very treatable and has a good survival rate with treatment -- the tumor is too large to remove surgically, but the doctors are hopeful that the course of treatment will be successful.
He will find out more in the coming weeks (meeting with the radiation oncologist on May 30), and the goal right now is to raise funds to help Michael and his family get through the next six weeks of daily radiation treatment, and to reduce the "financial toxicity" that tends to come with a cancer diagnosis.
Michael and Jenn had depleted their personal savings and maxed out their credit cards during the four months the store was unable to open due to permit issues with the new location. They currently don’t have anything to fall back on if Michael is unable to work, either for their personal bills or to keep the business open.
If Michael is down and unable to work for a significant amount of time, the shop will go under, after being open in Coral Springs since July 2001.
Thanks so much for boosting the signal, and for anything you can contribute.
