Help Michael Pay for Grad School
Donation protected
I'm so excited to be working with Steve Immerman, Ed.D. and former President of Montserrat College of Art, to raise funds to help Michael Aghahowa pay for grad school. We both believe strongly in Michael's potential as a teacher and artist and contributor to our community. This fundraiser is being supplemented by a separate effort initiated by Steve, who will manage the tuition repayments for Michael. Please read Steve's message and consider helping:
I met Michael when he enrolled as an undergraduate at Montserrat College of Art where I served as President. His attitude, work ethic, humility, and open personality soon garnered the respect and friendship of faculty, students, and staff alike. By the time he graduated, he had been elected by his peers to be the student speaker at his commencement and his art had achieved an impressive expression of both his skill and his voice. Throughout his time at Montserrat and continuing to the present, Michael has been a dedicated community member and volunteer, all while working sometimes more than one job.
After being accepted at both graduate schools to which he applied, The School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Mass Art, Michael has accepted the offer of admission for graduate study at Mass Art. He will enroll in the fall staying close to home to maintain his family, work, and community commitments. He has already received the maximum grant that the Mass Art provides, but will need considerable support for the remaining tuition, art supplies, and commuting expenses. I remember clearly how important scholarship support was to my own graduate study and what a gift it was to be able to begin my post-grad career debt-free. This fundraising effort is intended to do the same for Michael in the certain knowledge of the potential he represents both as an artist and as a contributing community member.
Steve, Michael and I thank you for your support!
