I’m reaching out to you on behalf of my dear friend Michael, who is facing an incredibly difficult and life-altering journey. Over the past year, Michael’s health has taken a heartbreaking turn, and he urgently needs our support.

What started with a seizure disorder led to a devastating car accident that changed everything. The accident caused severe spinal injuries that required complex back surgery to repair shattered vertebrae. Unfortunately, things have only become more complicated since then.

Michael has endured multiple surgeries, including an emergency operation to fix a CSF (cerebrospinal fluid) leak, and now faces another intensive surgery to stabilize shifting hardware that was placed in his spine during his initial operation. On top of this, Michael developed a serious kidney condition following his surgeries that rapidly progressed into Stage 4 renal failure. He is on the brink of starting dialysis and may ultimately need a kidney transplant. The strain of these complications has also caused a rapid decline in liver function.

Michael is in constant pain and often struggles to get out of bed. His ability to work has been severely impacted, making it incredibly difficult for him to keep up with mounting medical bills and basic living expenses.

Right now, he’s waiting for a new insurance plan to go into effect so he can receive the back surgery and dialysis he urgently needs. Until then, he’s stuck in limbo, trying to manage pain, declining organ function, and the financial stress of staying afloat.

Michael is one of the kindest, most resilient people I know. He’s fought so hard, but he can’t do this alone.
