I'm Michael Erickson, father of 2 vibrant young children, and husband to an amazing wife who keeps our house going single-handedly. I suffer from severe epilepsy, having ~1700 seizures a day. I have a neurostimulator in my skull to help mitigate these. Recently, I found myself with an emergency medical situation where I had a droopy face, extremely weak leg and arm on one side. We were forced to treat this as life-threatening and called an ambulance to take me to the hospital. After many tests, they ruled out a stroke, but I had to transfer to my main hospital for epilepsy. I had to undergo a multi-day EEG to rule out a new type of seizure, and eventually, they found my C4 vertebrae had been smashed in compared to my C5, and both had multiple old fractures. This was causing a litany of issues, including the original issue.

We are raising 2 kids and trying to get by on other bills with just my pay from SSDisability. We are always hesitant to reach out for help from our surrounding community; however, we will need it. Our goal is to hopefully cover our bills and anything left into savings for future costs (which there will be). We are full of gratitude to anyone who donates or even takes the time to read this or pass it on.
