I am creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my dad, Michael Day. Below is his story. We are asking for assistance in generating funds to help him. Thank you so much for reading:

I am Michael Day, and I have lived for 18 years at 691 Dunbarton Rd with my mother. She lived there for 25 years before she passed in April of 2024. She was on hospice for 9 months before passing away from dementia. I was her full-time caretaker for 7 of those months. During that time, I was unable to work due to having to care for my mother.

After she passed last April, I turned 65 the following month. I was able to receive Social Security benefits after working as a painter since I was 16 years old. However, I only receive $665/month and the mortgage alone is $815/month. I have worked some jobs here and there to help pay for utilities and living expenses, but haven't been able to make ends meet enough to cover all of my bills. I received a letter from an attorney that on May 28th the home will be foreclosed on and we will lose everything. I owe less than $20,000 on the home, and am $7,500 behind on mortgage payments. I am not asking for the full debt owed on the house, but just enough to help cover past-due payments. My mother's wish was for me to stay in the house after she passed, but life has been extremely difficult since then. Anything you can contribute to help would be greatly appreciated.
