My name is Michael Cota I am a 48-year-old disabled Man with Mosaic Down Syndrome currently living in assisted living the past seven years, I am losing my ability to walk and go to the wheelchair clinic on May 2nd, 2025, I will then be going to a full nursing home shortly after I am on waiting lists, and I have a few upcoming medical expenses. One is a co-payment of around $1500 for my electric wheelchair, Mainecare said may be up to 20% co-pay would be between $992-$1500 max. The second medical need is for a new lift chair that I have to sleep in the range of $450.00 and up. We have set a goal of $2000.00 to help in this transition. In the event wheelchair does get fully covered donations will go towards other medical needs and expenses as I transition from assisted living to nursing home level.
