Help Michael Continue Serving Plainfield
Donation protected
Michael Billingsley leads a life in service to the town of Plainfield. This is our opportunity to give back to help keep Michael afloat.
I have been fortunate to work alongside Michael on the Hazard Mitigation Committee. He is an incredible resource on the town's people, history, and works hard to create a more resilient community. His thinking and his heart are expansive.
In his role as Emergency Management Director, he has gone above and beyond and has accomplished in 1.5 years what would typically take 5 or more years. Just a few of his recent projects have been flood recovery in 2023 and 2024, securing grant funding to create an emergency shelter and cooling center at the town hall with accommodations for beloved pets, replace the Town Hall generator and move the existing generator to the Municipal Building for power during an emergency, assist flood affected homeowners with the 2023 buyout program, bring the Town Hall up to ADA standards of accessibility, and so much more.
Michael accomplishes all of this in his distinctive car - his safety vest prominent in the window, traffic cones in the back, and unique vanity plates, ready to respond to any emergency that arises. With an enormous amount of time devoted to town business and relying heavily on his car to accomplish these tasks, Michael's car is needing some additional care.
Donations made here will allow Michael to do much needed repairs and maintenance to his car and ensure his safety getting to and from a medical specialist in Brattleboro. Any leftover funds will help Michael catch up on some expenses that have compounded due to him putting the town first during multiple emergencies. This neighbor and friend has done so much for us, now is an opportunity to do what we can for him.
