Help Michael Continue His Ministry with a New Scooter

Hello brothers and sisters in Christ. My name is Jessica. I am making this Go Fund Me for my dad Michael. He is 65 years old and disabled. His only income is his monthly disability. He loves the Lord with all his heart and seeks to follow Him everyday. One of the ways my dad seeks the Lord is by helping, hanging out with, and talking with the homeless population around town. He does this with his Mobility Scooter.

He will put supplies on his scooter and scoot around town handing out the supplies. I gather the supplies, my husband looms beenies that I will stuff with the supplies, and my dad will go out around town and hand them out all the while having conversations with whomever he comes across about Jesus.

We normally focus on the Fall and Winter seasons but this past Fall (2024) and into winter, my dad has not been able to go and do this small ministry work. His mobility scooter broke down and we cannot find anyone around town that will fix it. It needs tires, new break lines, and something to do with electrical.

He rode his scooter around for about 5 years before any issues. This is why I am doing this Go Fund Me. I am asking for the funds to just buy him a whole new scooter. He would like to get one exactly the same or very close to the same if possible.

We found one that is pretty similar, though not the same brand, and it is going to be about $5,000. Its a 2 seat, 3 wheeled vehicle.

As you can see from the pictures, his current scooter is also a 2 seat with 3 wheels. I also added a picture of the one we found that is very similar to his current one with a picture of the "add-ons" and total price.

Another thing that my dad loves to do with his scooter is take his grandson, who is now 12, out and about. They will go to the store and to parks, my dad will scooter over to my sons school for grandparents day, concerts... etc. This scooter is my dads only transportation when I am not home. My dad lives with me, my husband, and our son and we only have one vehicle. The only time my dad uses our vehicle is in the pouring rain (drizzles and light sprinkles dont bother him on the scooter), and when it is dark out (I will then dive him to the store or where ever he may need to go), though the scooter does come with headlights, turn signals, and a horn. Getting him a new scooter would mean so much to him and to us as a household. It allows my dad to stay independent and free to leave the home if he needs to go to the store and such. We are a household of believers and know and trust that the Lord will make a way. I debated if I was going to put this in Community since he goes out into the community to help the homeless, or Faith since we love the Lord and trust Him fully. I chose Faith because the Faith community is so much stronger and has a firm foundation to stand on which means we can lift each other up.
