Hello, my name is Brittney Jowett and I have been a customer of Westwood Service Station for 6 Years now. From the first time that I went there for gas, Mike was so welcoming. From that point out, I have always gone there to get gas to help support a small local business.

 

3 Years ago, Mike's wife, Cynthia was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Brain Cancer. After treatments, Cynthia was able to beat her cancer. At that time, her and Mike were able to start to try and enjoy life again, but then Mike was faced with his next hurdle, the Covid 19 Pandemic, while owning a small business. Just like many other businesses, this past year and half has been the hardest years owning a business. From being short staffed, inflation cost, and the daily struggle of trying to make ends meet during a global pandemic. Last month Mike's wife cancer came back with vengeance. She is now paralyzed and has been placed on hospice. Mike is left with a very hard decision, as of September 30th, he will need to close the door to Westwood Service Station, to give full time care for his wife.

 

Mike has been a Mechanic to the residents of West Deptford for 28 years. He is one of the most selfless people who I have ever met. He has always been there for all our mechanical needs. I would love for everyone to come together as the wonderful community that we are to help support Mike and his wife during this very difficult time.
