Michael Byrd, a 39-year resident of Dare County, was diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer in November of 2025. He immediately began treatment, which has consisted of three days of chemotherapy every three weeks, as well as radiation every weekday morning over 25 weeks. Michael has always been a hard worker and self-starter and has continued to work through his treatment until the beginning of February. The side effects of chemotherapy have led to physical exhaustion, sickness, and loss of balance, leading to several falls which now prevent him from working.

This fundraiser is to help with his bills, transportation for treatment, medication, and basic needs during his treatment until he is able to return to work.
