Help Michael Attend The John Bolton Theatre School
Help Michael Logo pursue his dreams of becoming an actor!
In 2018 Michael auditioned to attend the highly competitive John Bolton Theatre School and successfully received a half-scholarship to undertake the three-month acting course.
This means Michael will still need to raise $2200 to cover the remaining half of the tuition fees. With your support we hope to reach this target by July 25, ahead of his course beginning on July 29. Every little bit helps in ensuring his scholarship is fully paid so he can focus on training with some of the most established artists and represent the west with pride and confidence.
John Bolton trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London and Ecole Jacques Lecoq, Paris and is one of Australia’s most established theatre directors and acting teachers working for major festivals and companies nationally and internationally and has held the position of Head of Acting at the VCA as well as establishing his own John Bolton Theatre School. The course will be an in-depth study into performing through the forms of Clown, Neutral mask, Vaudeville and Bouffon, as well as creating theatre through group and solo work using different devising techniques.

ABOUT MICHAEL
Michael Logo joined us at Western Edge Youth Arts (WEYA), a not-for-profit youth arts organisation, as a participant three years ago.
Born in Auckland, raised in Broadmeadows, now living in Melton, and proud of his Samoan heritage, Michael worked on the script for WEYA's Hamlet (2016), translating sections of this inter-cultural retelling of the classic text into Samoan language. Since then he has performed in WEYA's In Light of Day (2017) and Lele, Butterfly (2018).
Michael has also starred in several short films; Eli the Invincible (2011), an award winning short film featured on SBS about a young wrestling fan trying to make sense of the racial violence surrounding him, Hiders (2013), Burning of the Mekong (2016), and in a feature film, Is this the Real World (2015).
Michael is currently working with WEYA’s creative team at Victoria University Secondary College, teaching and guiding 50 students to create their own school production. He is also starring in a new Australian feature film (name embargoed at time of writing) and works at Coles to make ends meet.
