Help Michael attend the JLCO Summer Jazz Academy

Michael Blasi Jr is a highly dedicated Jazz Trombonist from Los Angeles, California. Practicing for long hours every day, rehearsing with numerous groups, and actively gigging with his peers, he has devoted a substantial majority of his life to his musicianship.

As a result of his immense dedication, he has won numerous Local and National awards like the Music Center's Spotlight Merit Award, a YoungArts Jazz/Trombone Merit Award, and has been a part of 2 DownBeat Magazine Student Award-winning groups. In addition, he has performed at many esteemed venues like the Greek Theater, the Microsoft Theater, and the legendary Hollywood Bowl.

This spring, Michael auditioned for the extremely prestigious and esteemed Jazz at Lincoln Center Summer Jazz Academy and to his elation was accepted. This summer program had been a dream of his to attend ever since his Freshman year of high school, so to finally have the opportunity to meet and learn hands-on from countless of his role models in the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra within a 2-week summer program was a dream come true.

However, both of Michael's parents are essential workers, meaning that living in Los Angeles with a family of five, they live paycheck to paycheck, barely able to make ends meet. With Michael having recently graduated and planning on attending college in the fall, his family will be allocating all of their saving towards his education, meaning that there’s no money left in the coffers to attend the Summer Jazz Academy, and they are afraid that going into more debt at this time is not possible.

Therefore, to participate in this opportunity of a lifetime, Michael's family must expend around $5,000 that they do not have at the moment to attend the Lincoln Center Summer Jazz Academy.
