Help Michael Anderson Fight Brain Cancer!

On September 17, 2022, Michael married Desiree, his best friend and partner of 10 years, on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in Pensacola, Florida. It was a special day of love and celebration for their entire family, including their four beautiful children, Michael's only daughter Amiyah (3 years old), Mason (5 years old), Jacobi (9 years old), and Jamarian or "Jay" as we call him (14 years old). We laughed, we cried, then we danced the night away. The wedding was absolutely magical. Micheal had no idea that less than a year later he would be fighting for his life.

About Michael:

Michael Anderson is best described as honest, hardworking and trustworthy. The one person you can always depend on. A fiercely devoted husband to his wife, Desiree, and a very present father to his 4 beautiful children. His identity rests in being a pillar to his family. He's a man who takes pride in modeling responsibility, commitment and dedication for his family every day. According to his sister, Alex, Michael is known as the responsible one in the room. His serious and focused disposition carried over from early childhood.

The Diagnosis:

In February of this year, what started off as an occasional dizzy spell with vertigo quickly escalated to daily episodes, prompting multiple trips to the ER. This was the beginning of countless doctor visits, MRI CT scans, biopsies, multiple surgeries with extended hospital stays and rehabilitation. Michael was diagnosed with an inoperable fast-growing and aggressive stage 4 glioblastoma brain tumor. The tumor is located on his cerebellum, on the back of his brain between the cerebrum and brain stem, slowly deteriorating his balance, walking, standing and eye coordination.

What They Need:

As you can imagine, the weight of this news is almost unbearable. Staying true to form, both Michael and Desiree have shown incredible resilience despite the extremely challenging reality of fighting cancer. As people of faith, our hope is eternal. We believe faith comes alive at the crossroads of uncertainty and that God's miraculous healing begins where medical logic ends. We wholeheartedly trust God's plan for Michael's life. In the end, it's the people in our family and community who we depend on to hold us up in hard times. My hope is that we will help Michael and Desiree with the out-of-pocket chemotherapy treatments (currently underway), ongoing housing & food expenses, future appointments, transportation and the continued care of their autistic son, Jacobi. Both Michael and Desiree are currently unable to work.

How You Can Help:

1. Donate to help pay for Michael's current chemotherapy treatment. He requires daily visits for 6 weeks ($125 out of pocket per visit) to disrupt further tumor growth.
2. Donate to help maintain housing expenses, food, medicine, transportation costs, childcare and other living expenses. Bills have quickly accumulated with neither Michael nor Desiree being able to work. Desiree is currently on leave from work while providing full-time primary care to both Michael and their children.
3. Post the link and share their story.

As an honorable mention, Michael's mother passed away two months after his wedding.
Please continue to pray for the Anderson family and do give whatever amount you can (big or small), then share share share this with everyone you know.

Thank you for your prayers and thoughtful consideration.
