On Sunday, September 21, 2025 - our family was struck with devastating news: My cousin, Michael, was involved in a terrible car accident where he was life-flighted from the scene to Grant Medical Center in Columbus where he remains hospitalized to this day.

His list of injuries is extensive including dislocated right shoulder, broken right elbow, all ribs on his right side were broken, right leg shattered in multiple spots with compound fib/tib fracture, his left knee was broken and degloved, his left hip out of socket, and vertebrae broken in 3 spots.

Since his admittance to the hospital, he has undergone several different surgeries with more that will be needed in the future.

At this time, we are grateful to say that Michael has regained consciousness, and each day is making a stride towards recovery although it will be a long process. It is uncertain how long Michael will remain in the hospital, as he is still being closely monitored for any signs of infection, and as anyone would assume with such extensive injuries there will be a lot of therapy necessary.

As you can image - Michael's parents, Shawn and Krissy, have spent countless hours at the hospital by their son's side.

We are creating this GoFundMe in hopes to ease some of the financial stress including lost wages, medical bills, and travel expenses. Funds will also be utilized to cover the expenses/bills of Michael's home that will continue to accumulate while he is hospitalized.

For anyone that knows Michael, you know that he is a hard-headed, stubborn man that will continue to give his best fight. Not only that, but he is the type of person that would lend anyone a helping hand and the shirt off his back.
