Help Michael Amante Recover From Life-Changing Heart Attack

Dear friends, family and students of Michael Amante,

On Monday June 2, Michael suffered a major heart attack and several mini strokes at his home in Boynton Beach, Florida. His fiancé was present and called EMS to rush him to the hospital. The doctors said only 10% of people typically survive what he experienced; we are so thankful that Michael is alive!

Due to the severity of the event, Michael has been in the hospital for the past four weeks, initially requiring life support and bravely fighting through multiple procedures and a long, difficult recovery process. He refuses to give up and is continuing his journey back to health.

Those who know Michael understand that he is a kind, compassionate, generous individual and incredibly talented artist. He is celebrated for bridging the worlds of classical and popular music and is known as "The People's Tenor". In addition to decades of acclaim in the opera world, Michael is a dedicated father of three, has been an advocate for children with disabilities, and most recently a teacher of digital art to over 300 students in grades K-8 at a local charter school.

This medical crisis has placed an incredible emotional and financial strain on Michael and his family, with mounting hospital bills, ongoing treatments, and the uncertainty of when he will be able to return home or to work. We are all pulling together to support Michael during this time, and asking for help from his many friends and colleagues.
