Hi, my name is Carmen and I'm starting this fundraiser for my father Todd. My father is the most hard-working man I know. He is a self-employed owner-operator and has been working for himself for many years. In 2014, my father suffered from a pulmonary embolism while on a trip and was treated in a hospital in Minnesota. He was in the ICU for a few weeks. This was the beginning of my father's medical journey. He was seeing doctors in Laredo Tx for almost 7 yrs and his condition was just getting worse. As many have experienced, the medical help in Laredo and all over the U.S is not the greatest. He was neglected and wasn’t able to get the proper care he needed for 7 yrs. It got to the point where he could not breathe and he would at times lose consciousness due to the lack of oxygen. After several doctor visits in Laredo, we decided that he would have more hope of finding the help he needed in San Antonio Tx. After being hospitalized in San Antonio for two weeks where they studied his conditions and came to the realization that Todd needed a Pulmonary Thromboendarterectomy and if he didn't get the help he needed he was only going to have a year to live. Thankfully, he was a candidate to have this procedure done in San Diego California and it was successful. My father had not been working since early May and put in all of his money into transportation to California, food, lodging, and medicine. Todd is now is in his recovery process but is not allowed to work or do much really for the next 3 months. This makes a total of 5+ months of no work. In his recovery process, he is not allowed to lift his arms, drive, or lift anything heavier than ten pounds. This is why I'm asking if you would like to donate, anything that would help. I would also appreciate people that can share this link. This time should be spent making sure he has a good recovery and not worrying over the bills piling up and potential loss of home.
