Hi, my name is Micayah Washington, and I’m a rising junior at Howard University, majoring in Psychology with a minor in Biology. I’m from Silver Spring, Maryland, and I’ve worked hard to finance my education by holding full-time jobs and applying for outside scholarships.
I currently have one final balance remaining that I need to clear before July 31st. If it’s not paid by then, my account will be sent to collections, and I won’t be able to continue my education.
This balance is from one semester when I came up short, despite doing everything I could to cover my expenses. I’ve always found a way to keep going, but now I’m asking for support to help me continue my journey.
My ultimate goal is to become a psychiatrist, because Black mental health is incredibly important to me. I want to open my own private practice that not only provides medicinal treatment, but also focuses on the holistic well-being of each individual — emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
To stay on this path, I need to raise $13,365 dollars. If 13,365 people give just $1, I’ll be able to stay in school and continue working toward my dream of serving my community through mental health care.
I truly believe in the power of community and collective support. If you're able to give — even just a dollar — or share this with others, it would mean the world to me.
Thank you so much for your time, support, and belief in my journey.
