Help Rebuild Micah’s Life After the Flooding

Hi, my name is Austin Sherrill, and I’m Micah’s cousin and co-worker at Mudtools. Many of you know that the recent flooding in Bat Cave, NC, devastated our Mudtools facilities, but what you may not realize is that this was also Micah’s home. He narrowly escaped just minutes before his house collapsed into the river, leaving him with nothing but the clothes on his back.

From a young age, Micah has been a guiding light in my life, sharing his passion for film and music that shaped who I am. He is an incredibly talented artist, and all of his artwork was housed in his home. In a twist of fate, the roof of his house landed on the bridge nearby. As he and his brother searched through the wreckage, they miraculously found the above painting of our late uncle Scott, a small but poignant reminder of what they lost.

This is all Micah has left. He’s not one to ask for help, so I’m stepping in to do so on his behalf. I’m creating this GoFundMe to support him as he begins to rebuild his life. I know our community is facing its own challenges, and every contribution, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference.

Thank you for considering helping Micah during this incredibly difficult time. Your support means the world to us.
