Anyone who has ever met or had the opportunity to get to know Micah knows he is kind, gentle, respectful, and loyal.
He is 25, works hard, and has always done what he can for everyone around him.
He has been in a controlling relationship for quite some time, and it has turned quite toxic in the last few months.
He has been proud to never lay a finger on her, even when he is being hit and shoved. He made the mistake of taking it out on a window a few months ago and had to have surgery on his hand.
On Friday, January 23rd, he arrived home to find his truck packed and went in to get his cat MohMoh and more of his belongings. He was blocked and not allowed to leave, and then he was hit in the head three times with a wine bottle until it broke and lacerated the side of his head. The hard lumps are right above his temple, and the nurse at the ER said he was extremely lucky to be okay.
He grabbed his items and ran out the door, only to be pulled over and arrested down the street. The police were told that he threatened, hit, and intimidated her, along with damaging a lot of property in their apartment.
Micah was taken to the ER and then immediately to jail in Boulder County, where he spent Friday through Sunday night before we could get him out on bond.
He is now facing multiple charges, one of which is a felony.
Anyone who has ever met him knows he is not capable of this. His spirit is so broken, and he is so scared.
We have to hire private counsel to ensure they will fight to get this all dropped because the evidence is here and clear! Public defenders will not do the job we need them to do to ensure he doesn’t have to live with this forever.
The lawyer we are speaking with is convinced he can get it dropped, and we really believe he will fight!
Micah had to leave his home with whatever belongings the police let him grab in 10 minutes and whatever she threw in his truck on Friday. He is starting over again. She threw his computer, and most of his necessities are gone. On top of having to rebuild his life, hiring the lawyer is going to be close to $8,000.
He has a good job and a mom and dad who will walk through fire for him, but we are asking for the rest of you who love and respect him to consider helping out. Micah has made many friends and gained the respect of many people in his 25 years. If we all come together with love and support and a little assistance, we can help guide him into a new and better phase of his life.
I know you love and believe in him if you know him. Let’s help him get through this and on a bright path forward!!
Thank you for your time reading this!!
