Micah and Maliah have been dear friends to many of us for many years, and it’s heartbreaking to see them facing such a devastating situation. Their home in Redding was their pride and joy—a place they poured 5+ years of hard work and finances into renovating. Just a few days ago, flash floods swept through the area, undoing all their efforts in a matter of hours. Their house was essentially gutted, and the majority of their possessions were lost, including irreplaceable keepsakes, furniture, appliances, and countless items belonging to their four daughters (all aged 5 y/o and younger).
What makes this even more difficult is that Micah and Maliah to their surprise, did not have the correct flood insurance on their policy to cover the cost of this. Now, they are displaced and facing the daunting task of starting over. The funds raised here will go directly toward helping them find temporary housing if needed, replace essential items, and, hopefully, begin the process of re-renovating their beloved home. Every bit of support will help them take the next step toward rebuilding their lives.
We love Micah, Maliah, and their daughters deeply. Having this tragedy strike right before Christmas is especially hard, and we want to do everything we can to support them. We don’t know the full cost of what they’ve lost, and our initial goal of $10,000 probably skims the surface of it, but we hope to raise enough to ease their burden. Micah and Maliah are good, kind, giving, and extremely hard-working people who have always been there for all of us time and time again. Now, they could really use the support of their friends and community. Any help you can offer will mean the world to them.
