Help Micah Fight Leukemia: Support His Journey
Donation protected
On April 22, 16 year old Micah McFarlane was diagnosed with T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. He was immediately admitted to the ICU for several days while they started him on treatment. The 30th he was released to go home.
On Friday, Micah started complaining of his head feeling hot. He was having a hard time finding his words and was trying to cool off his head by running it under water. He was rushed to the hospital and found he had suffered a hemorrhagic stroke. He was Careflighted to Dallas where he underwent emergency surgery to remove his skull and stop the brain bleed. He has been in a medically induced coma since Friday. This morning, they decided to remove more of the skullcap to help relieve the pressure. He seems to be doing better.
He has an MRI in the morning to see what caused the stroke. Hopefully he will wake up tomorrow or the day after. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. He has a long road ahead of him that no 16 year olds should have to go through.
Micah is a sophomore at Gainesville High School, where he is a member of the wresting team. He is also an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hunting and fishing.
Micah and his family have a long road ahead and need our support. All money raised will go to the family to help with medical bills and expenses.
