Hi friends and family,

We’ve created this fundraiser on behalf of Desiray and Micah Gardner. Desiray is currently hospitalized and facing a life-threatening illness. She is one of the kindest, most generous people we know, with a wonderful sense of humor that has lifted us all during difficult times. Even now, she remains optimistic despite the many ups and downs she faces. Today, they need us more than ever.

Two weeks ago, Desiray was rushed to Baptist Hospital after experiencing severe pain and other symptoms. She was soon diagnosed under emergency circumstances with a rare blood clotting disorder called Factor V Leiden. She remains hospitalized—some days bringing hopeful news from her doctors, and other days bringing uncertainty. Micah and Desiray are newlyweds, and their love and devotion to each other are more evident than ever. Micah hasn’t left her side, spending every night in a chair or hospital bed next to her. Desiray’s illness has been shocking and heartbreaking for her and everyone who loves her. We remain hopeful that an upcoming open-heart surgery will save her life. In addition, Desiray will require lifelong health care once she is released, on top of the already staggering hospital costs.

Desiray and Micah are fighters, but this battle is incredibly tough—physically, emotionally, and financially. Micah hasn’t left her side and can’t return to work until she’s stabilized.
