Help Micah and Shelly After the Marshall Fire
Donation protected
Like so many of their friends and neighbors that lived in Superior & Louisville, our friends Micah Depner and Shelly Hobson lost everything in their home on December 30th. The Marshall Fire swept across the open space driven by 100mph winds and gave no warning to those in the Sagamore subdivision.
Micah was home at the time. It was noticeably windy. But when outside turned dark as dusk, he opened the front door and was blasted with smoke and ash. The smoke went from white to black, to yellow/orange. He knew the fire was close and had to go. Keys, wallet, phone, boots… The next frantic minute (or minutes?) were spent looking for Yoshi. But she hid too well, and it was getting darker outside. He knew he had to get out, but never imagined the entire neighborhood would burn to ash.
Shelly was at an appointment at the time and had to drive through the traffic and smoke plume on McCaslin to meet up with Micah at the Key Bank overlooking the town. From there, they watched in disbelief as the fire consumed the town of Superior.
Since the fire, they’ve been back to the neighborhood… there’s literally nothing salvageable. And Yoshi joined so many other Superior fur babies on the rainbow bridge.
We’ve known Micah for almost two decades, from back when he worked at World Boards in Bozeman, then to having his in-house support at 686, and then helping him land on his feet here in Colorado. And met Shelly when they joined Team Lucas at the Denver Hydrocephalus Walks.
Micah and Shelly are eternally grateful for your help and loving support. They need to replace everything such as furniture, laptop computers, clothing and household items. And if you’ve already contributed to the other fund set up through their friend Nick, please know that your contribution there is already greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
