Hi everyone, I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for help for my 6-year-old pup, Mia. Since December 2nd, Mia has been paralyzed and unable to walk or support herself. She is currently incontinent and needs constant care. Over the past weeks, I’ve taken her to three different veterinarians and a specialist, doing everything I can to understand what’s happening to her.

One veterinarian diagnosed Mia with IVDD and said she urgently needs an MRI and evaluation by a neurologist to determine the exact cause and next steps. Another vet explained that parts of her spine are bone-to-bone, with ruptured discs. We also tried a chiropractor, but unfortunately, we haven’t seen improvement. Recently, Mia had a frightening episode where she urinated blood for an entire day, leading to yet another emergency vet visit. While the bleeding has stopped, we still don’t have clear answers.

At this point, the MRI and neurologist consult are critical to figure out whether surgery, medical management, or other treatments can give Mia a chance at recovery—or at least comfort and quality of life.
