Help Mia Receive Life-Saving Medical Care
Donation protected
Aloha, our dear friend and Kia’i (protector) Mia is facing emergency medical needs for treatment of a brain injury. Mia is one of the kindest and most courageous people you will ever meet. She embodies Aloha with her gentle and calm presence, yet is unwavering in standing up for what is pono (right).
Mia has served the Lāhui in countless ways—she grows native Hawaiian plants and makes incredible teas and food as medicine for her community of Waimānalo and anyone in need. She has served as a board member and representative, keeping our water and ‘Āina protected.
Mia needs to receive important and life-saving care after a brain injury in 2017 left her suffering from debilitating side effects.
Mia has fought hard to regain her health and is currently undergoing a new series of treatments to heal from intense neurological issues and pain resulting from brain trauma. Over the next 6 weeks, she will receive intensive medical treatments to address what previous medications were not able to. These treatments are not covered by insurance and cost $700+ per session. She has not been able to have a steady job since the initial injury but shares her beauty with the world through her incredible photography, farming, and healing herbal teas.
If you are not able to donate funds directly to this GoFundMe, please consider supporting Mia by purchasing her Waimānalo Brews Hawaiian Herbal Teas or photo greeting cards available at Hawaiian Island Cafe in Waimānalo. Mahalo nui loa! Your support and love is appreciated beyond measure
