My best friend, Mia Jamison, was 24, a middle school science teacher in Harlingen, Texas, and an avid birder who taught me what a Spotted Towhee sounds like. She loved science, exploring south Texas, drawing, photography, and watching reality tv with her family, just to name a few things. She was someone who remembered the details about a person and made everyone around her feel so loved and seen just by existing. On November 1st, 2025, Mia had a massive stroke and the doctors despite their best efforts were unable to save her brain. As of Friday November 14th she will be finally laid to rest.
