Help Mia Get her Masters in Italy!
I am raising money for the tuition, rent, and other costs of living during my 2 year master's program in Siena, Italy.
Ciao a tutti and hi everyone!
To all of you I haven't had the pleasure of meeting yet, it's so nice to meet you! And to those of you I'm blessed to already know, it's good to see you again :-)
In 2018, I was blessed with the opportunity to study abroad Perugia, Italy for a year on a full scholarship-- a year that was filled with some of the most special memories and experiences of my life! I stayed with a host family who showered me with love and kindness and with whom I still keep in touch with to this day, I was able to travel and explore life outside of the US for the first time in my life, and I fell in love with living again. My time in Italy reminded me of the beauty in every day life and the power in the connections we make with one another, no matter how small they may seem.
I even wrote a few songs about falling in love with Italy, and I promised myself that I would travel back there and build a life for myself as soon as I could.
Well in the fall of 2020 I had the wild idea of applying to graduate school programs in Italy, and in January 2021 I found out I had been accepted to both of the programs I applied to! These past few months have be a whirlwind of organizing documents and sending hundreds of emails to consulates and school offices, but I finally feel confident enough to say that in September, I will be moving back to Italy to begin my Italian master's program at the Università di Siena for art history.
I have spent the past year working hard to save as much money as possible to support myself independently in Italy since I am not eligible for financial aid as an American student, and I have managed to save up enough money to prove adequate financial means to the consulate to obtain my visa and to pay for my tuition and housing fees for about one academic year. However, the amount I have saved leaves almost no room for the incidental costs I will also have, like groceries, utility bills, and medical expenses, nor is it enough to pay for my tuition fees and housing costs for my second year (tuition = 2,500 euro/year and housing=6000 euro/year). This is why I am asking for your help now.
Right now, my goal is set very high at $15,000, but truly any amount will help me tremendously. You all are my community, my extended family, and I promise to continue to live out my dreams and truth with the hopes of encouraging and empowering every single one of you to do the same. And I also promise to keep you all updated on my life in Italy through videos, posts, and maybe even some new songs so that you can have a taste of la dolce vita no matter where you are in the world.
Thank you all so much for listening to my story. And if you can't donate at this time, sharing this video and my go fund me page will go just as far!
Love & Light
