Update 1 year later: THANK YOU EVERYONE WHO HELPED MY AMAZING GIRL GET HER SURGERY LAST YEAR. after some PT and taking things slow for a couple months. Mia’s back to normal and running again. We do keep her very limited on physical activity to prevent this from happening again. But she wouldn’t be here running happy again without yall. Thank you again <3
This is Mia. She's a sweet Rottweiler born and raised in Wyoming. After my separation from the military, we returned back home to Virginia. She is only 2 years old with a ton of energy. I have always made sure to keep her physically active. Due to her high activity, she ended up injuring herself with a CCL tear.
(This is compared to a human ACL injury).
Her first incident was in November 2023. This was a partial tear. In January 2024, she had a full tear.. now causing her to barely use that leg and always walking with a limp. She cried and cried all night and with every little movement.
She is a little better now with the help of pain meds and numerous vet visits. Our vet recommended surgery, as this is the only way she is going to get better. I want her to enjoy her younger years being active as much as she can.
She has been advised to lose weight and decrease her meal portions to help avoid further damage on this leg. Anything helps! I just want her to get better. I will be using the funds towards her surgery and surgery only. Mia will be having her surgery June 24th. THANK YOU!!
