Help Mia DiLorenzo Break Barriers in the Engineering Field

I am so deeply honored to have been invited to the Rice University Aerospace Academy. Aerospace is something I am fascinated with and would love the opportunity to learn more about. I want to be part of the future and work hands-on with the technology that will contribute to advancing our future. Being able to have hands-on experience would not only enable me to do something I enjoy, but it would give me a chance to do something important. I also want the chance to be able to excel and prove myself as a woman in an often male-dominated field. I very rarely see women in the field of aerospace, or even engineering in general, and I want to work to break that stigma. I want to show that I am capable of just as much, if not more, than my male counterparts, and I want my success to be an example to other girls who may feel like outsiders in their particular field of interest.
