Hi, I’m Mia. I started a GoFundMe over two months ago asking for financial help with tuition, living, and transportation. With the money raised with your guys’ help, I was able to rebuild my emergency fund, buy a car, get groceries, and feel more secure and comfortable with my finances.
Unfortunately, aside from my emergency fund (which I do not touch), most of my money from the GoFundMe and from working at Chick-Fil-A has gone to my rent. I moved everything from my current apartment to my boyfriend’s house, as I was expected to have my lease taken over by someone on September 1st, but they were ultimately unable to. My current lease is from August 2025-August 2026 and I cannot end it early due to the complex’s policies. My rent is $949/installment and is due on the first of every month. For the past three months, I’ve had to wait until the middle of the month to have enough money to pay rent, all while accruing late fees, making my rent cost about $3.2K in total since August.
Fortunately, I do have someone lined up to take over my lease in January, but that means I just have November and December’s rent remaining. As of now, I just paid October’s rent last week and only have about $100 left before I need to dip into my emergency fund. Ideally, I would like to get ahead of the curve to pay for November’s rent earlier as to not accrue late fees this upcoming month, but have had some recent health issues that have made me miss work.
Any donation helps so much, and if you’re not in a position to donate, sharing would mean a lot to me. Thank you all so much, your support has helped me tremendously through these tough times.
