Hi everyone, my name is Mia!

This year, I have the incredible opportunity to join a Global Medical Brigade to Panama, where students and doctors come together to bring healthcare to rural communities that otherwise don’t have access to it. We’ll be providing medicines, dental care (like cleanings and extractions), and general medical services by setting up clinics in local spaces, such as schools, and working alongside doctors from within the country.

For me, this isn’t just about travel—it’s personal. My dad grew up in Camagüey, Cuba, where families often faced the same struggles of limited access to medical care. Hearing his stories has given me a deep sense of connection to communities like the ones we’ll be serving, and I want to give back in any way I can.

In order to participate, I need to raise $2,455 to cover program costs. This funding will allow me to be part of this brigade and help bring essential care—whether that’s daily prescriptions, checkups, or dental procedures—to people who truly need it.
