Hi, my name is Meli and I am blessed to have some of the greatest kids in the world, this includes my first born, Mia.

Allow me to tell you a little bit about Mia. Mia has always been driven and determined, putting her education above all else. She participated in the Medical Magnet Program, passed the BACE exam (Biomedical Technician Assistant Certification) She spent 2 years in the Latin Honors Society, took all AP classes and Mia graduated Cum Laude (With Honors) from High School Class Of 21, all while she completed over 120 hours of community service her senior year...oh, and she always has her nose in a book .

To say I am proud in an understatement ❤

I expected this day to come, when she would be attending college. Her ultimate goal is to become a Pulmonary Surgeon. She has been accepted into several colleges she had applied to, butltimately decided on a University local here in Florida, scheduled to attend fall semester September 7, 2021.

Though we expected this day to arrive, we were not expecting covid and the destruction that would come from it. Not only has it caused so much heartache, not for just us as a family but the world as a whole. It has caused a severe financial burden. As a parent I can honestly say I feel I've failed. With our saving depleted and now our credit is honestly a mess I am struggling to pay the remaining balance (est. $705.) and costs of books (est. 256.18) for the fall semester not covered by financial aid while trying to keep our heads above water. Long story short, I don't have the financial means at this time to cover regular living expenses plus help cover the difference for my daughter.

With all my current financial obligations while collecting less than 5% of the tuition cost a month from unemployment (Florida no longer participates in the extra federal benefits..this was abruptly ended on June 26th for all Floridians) So for a family of 5 this is just not financially possible at this time.

I am asking, if possible, can you please help. You never know, one day you may need a Pulmonary Surgeon and Mia may be the one to care for you.
