My 20 year old daughter Mia needs your help. Thank you for taking the time to review her urgent need.
Mia has always been on the go, very active with her life as a nanny, family and bakery manager, and she also spends many hours every week as a volunteer in the community. She is my youngest of two girls.
I am a single mother, with loving friends and family that have made being a mom during tough times possible. Mia and her sister Grace are best friends and shenanigan partners all the time. Mia also has a very loving and supportive boyfriend, Shaun, who has been calm, thoughtful, and helpful, and even helps her with her medical injections.
In the last year she started suffering from increasing pain and discomfort and abnormal cycles. After several visits to different doctors, she was eventually steered towards the wonderful Dr. Jones in McKinney, Texas. After some tests and exams, she learned that she not only has PCOS (which was already diagnosed), but advanced Endometriosis , and Uterine Polyps .
Her Doctor has started her on a regiment of progesterone treatment to hopefully help with regulating her body. This includes being injected three times a month at specific times with a serum of hormones in an oil carrier. This treatment has started this week. This treatment does not cure or alleviate endometriosis, but tries to create a regular cycle and hopefully reduce her PCOS symptoms. Mia is also very active in taking care of her diet, nutrition, exercise and trying to help her body cope with this disease.
The next step will be for Mia to have surgery to explore her condition's severity, remove as much tissue as possible, and remove polyps.
Mia needs this surgery as soon as possible, as her quality of life has been greatly diminished do to severe pain, fatigue, and the wide array of symptoms that make simple daily life a challenge. This is especially difficult as Mia has a very active and physically demanding job and loves to be active in volunteer work.
Mia is scheduled to have surgery June 30, 2021.
We as a family are asking for assistance with funding the hospital fees, doctors fees, costs of medicine and post surgery fees. Her insurance will cover 80% of the anticipated bills, so we need help with the deductible and 20% of the overall charges. Though we as a family have some limited funds, we do not have anywhere near what she needs to pay for this surgery and the hospital/doctor bills.
As time goes by, Mia's condition only worsens and rapidly, and her options for working and functioning become more and more limited as days and weeks go by. Though this surgery will not cure her of endometriosis, it will be a huge step in giving her back her health and her ability to function normally. Though she will have to endure this disease until she is older (she's not grown yet!) she can have surgery that will permanently remove the cause of the endometriosis, (hysterectomy) in the future. This surgery now will remove the abnormal growth, polyps and adhesions, and give her mobility, energy and remove the intense pain she is dealing with daily.
Thank you so much for reading, and thank you so much for any and all help you can contribute. Mia and her family greatly appreciate your time and assistance!
