I really didn’t want to ask for money because it’s embarrassing but I have exhausted all other options.
I was laid off in 2020 and I’m still barely making half of what I made back then. Even if prices were steady I wouldn’t have enough to pay rent but the cost of *everything* keeps going up.
I recently got COVID for over a week (and still recovering). I ran out of sick time and ended up losing about $1,000 in wages/tips.
My landlord already took me to court to start the eviction process, and I made a payment arrangement to get caught up on back rent, but if I can’t pay my base rent and the additional rent then that's further grounds to evict me.
I was several hundred short on rent last month but after getting COVID I’m further behind. I’m behind on all of my bills including my storage unit that has a lot of items that are important for me. It’s a big ask, but I’m asking for help with paying my back rent and a little extra to for 2 months of storage so I don’t lose my stuff.
Although it’s embarrassing to ask for money again, getting evicted or losing my possessions in storage is even worse.
Thanks for reading this far, and thanks in advance for any assistance you can offer. I really appreciate you.
P.S. - I am still looking for jobs where I can utilize my skills in community organizing and public policy. I’m also looking for nightlife gigs. DM me with opportunities. Thanks!
