Help Meylin Create a Queer-Friendly Volleyball Community

My name is Meylin and I’m starting a LGBTQ+ friendly, lesbian centered, adult rec volleyball team in Portland OR! The team is called BUMP, SET, DYKE!! I’ve played volleyball for a lot of my life but stopped after high school in ‘18, so I’ve been itching to start something like this for a long time!

Not only do I want to bring people together to play and have a good time, I want to bring the QUEER community together and create another outlet where we can relax, enjoy the game, enjoy each others company, and let go of any stress for 2 hours!

As much as I’d love to have this be a free event for everyone, it’s impossible. The biggest concern with money will be gym rental fees. The gym I will be using is $440 per month, which is a good deal believe it or not! But as this group is only in its beginning stages, it would be very nice to have these fees covered as we start to get our foot in the door and we gain more exposure through word of mouth. I also have big hopes for fun things like T-shirts (or even jerseys), merch (beanies, stickers, socks, etc.), team bonding days (trips to the beach for volleyball, going out to dinners, movie night, friends and family field days), volleyball equipment, and whatever else the team can thing of!

I’m hoping we can raise at least $1000, but if we can cover our gym fees through the end of May ($1320), ANY and ALL extra money coming in from the team and anything leftover from this go fund me will go to everything I stated above:)

This is my first time doing any of this so I’m excited to see what happens, thank you!
