In rural areas of Mexico, more than 30% of young people do not finish high school, mainly due to poor infrastructure and financial barriers within their families.
Since 2019, Estudiantes Conservando la Naturaleza has been providing scholarships to bright, motivated students so they can complete their studies. But our support goes beyond financial aid, these students also participate in weekly turtle monitoring and conservation activities, gaining valuable hands on experience. This not only strengthens their academic growth, but also equips them with skills to become future professionals and leaders in their communities, while protecting Mexico’s rich biodiversity.
So far, we have supported 22 students in rural communities in Sonora and Yucatán, Mexico. Some of our graduates are the first in their families to finish high school, including young women who are now pursuing professional careers, a life changing achievement for them and a source of pride for their families.
Why your support matters
Scholarships directly reduce financial pressure on families, allowing students to focus on their education and helping households redirect resources to other essential needs. By empowering these students, you are fueling a ripple effect of opportunity, hope, and environmental stewardship in their communities.
What your contribution can do:
$60 USD = one month of support for a student
$180 USD = three months of scholarships to keep a student on track
$720 USD = a full year of education, transforming a student’s future
Together, we can help these students achieve their dreams while also protecting nature.
Donate today and share this campaign to spread the word. Your generosity creates a long lasting change.
