Meshach is a 21-year-old who has lived his whole life in Mathare, the second largest slum in Nairobi. Every day, he faces the challenge of finding clean water and supporting himself, but his passion for reaching people with the love of Jesus and his commitment to his community and family never waver. Through the blood of Christ, Meshach has become a son to me, and I am deeply invested in his journey.

Recently, Meshach endured a series of devastating events. A flood destroyed all his possessions, forcing him to move in with a friend. Just days later, a fire consumed that friend's home, leaving Meshach displaced once again. He now relies on the generosity of others, living in a small shack with another young man. Despite these hardships, Meshach continues to attend baking school during the week and raises chickens to support himself as best he can. His resilience and determination are truly inspiring.

The funds raised through this campaign will help Meshach secure a new place to live by himself in Mathare, provide him with essential items like bedding and a mattress, and enable him to purchase the equipment needed to start a baking business. With a refrigerator, mixer, and oven, Meshach will be able to launch a business that stands out in his community, as there are currently no other bakers in Mathare. For the past decade, I have been fundraising for World Vision, supporting clean water projects around the world. This year, God has brought Meshach into my life, and I feel called to lift him out of his situation so he can shine the light of Jesus and His saving grace to others in his community.
